About Me
Aloha, I’m Alyssa.
I’m a mom, wife, daughter, believer, and proud Okinawan woman raising my family in Hawai‘i.
Professionally, I’m a pharmacist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Precision Nutrition Certified and Girls Gone Strong Women’s Coaching Specialist. My work focuses on helping women build strength, energy, and long-term health through simple, evidence-based habits.
But my path here wasn’t straightforward.
For decades, I chased “skinny.”
It started in high school and continued through my twenties when I believed being thin meant being worthy. In college I taught step aerobics at the University of Washington—something I loved—but behind the scenes I was struggling with disordered eating and cycling through nearly every fad diet and detox trend.
In my thirties, the stress of work and life led to another pattern: numbing with food, wine, and busyness. By my mid-thirties I felt soft, sore, and exhausted—while still trying to shrink myself.
Everything changed when I learned something simple but powerful:
Building muscle—not chasing diets—is the lever that improves nearly everything.
Energy. Hormones. Mood. Labs. Body composition. Confidence.
Once I shifted my focus to strength, nutrition, sleep, and sustainable habits, my health—and my perspective—transformed.
I began helping friends. Then I dove deep into evidence-based training and nutrition. Today, I coach women like me: busy, capable, high-achieving women who want to feel stronger, clearer, and more energized without extreme dieting or burnout.
I still deal with pain sometimes. I still work on anxiety. But now my approach is different.
Food, sleep, and lifting weights are my medicine—not punishment.
And that’s My Mission:
To build a community of women who grow stronger—physically and mentally—as we age.
I’m passionate about helping women:
• Build muscle and maintain metabolic health
• Improve energy and resilience
• Support hormone health through lifestyle
• Reduce long-term disease risk
• Feel confident and capable in their bodies
Just as importantly, I want our children to grow up seeing women who care for their bodies with strength and self-respect—not shame or restriction.
A Few Personal Notes:
My fitness journey started as a teenager when two of my best friends showed up at my house on Christmas morning with a step aerobics platform. Three years later I was teaching daily step aerobics classes at the University of Washington.
I’m married to Tyler, a former Naval officer who later transitioned into engineering and investment management. Together we run our work-from-home family office while raising our two school-aged boys.
